The Sixth Moon in the Chinese Calendar is known as the "Lotus Moon", with the birthday of
the flower celebrated on the 24th as part of a Buddhist tradition. The Lotus is a symbol of
fortune, purity, beauty and the wisdom of compassion gained through perseverence; as it grows in
muddy waters, rising through the murk, and blooming unto the Sun to achieve enlightenment.
